Laura Elder
Edinburgh CBT Counsellor and Psychotherapist
AN ASSOCIATE of THE LIFE ACADEMY
About Me
My name is Laura Elder and I’m a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist from Fife and now living in Edinburgh.
My work as a therapist is based on the knowledge that change is possible. I am passionate about giving people a safe space where they are heard, valued, and understood, and believe that we all hold the tools within us to be able to live more fulfilled, purposeful, and empowered lives.
I work with individuals aged 16+ and offer both in-person and online sessions.
Approach
Whilst working within an evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural framework, I integrate tools from different modalities to provide a tailored and unique approach for each client.
My training includes cognitive behavioural therapy, compassion-focused techniques, solution-focused therapy, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, psychosynthesis techniques and I’m particularly interested in the body-mind connection.
Using a combination of techniques, working collaboratively, together we can explore your issues, uncover the roots whilst working towards your goals of growth and change.
