About Me

Hello and welcome!

I’m Nicoletta, originally from Greece but currently based in Edinburgh.

Having benefited invaluably from therapy during my own healing journey, I believe that change is possible with support from the right therapist. In my practice, I work in a relational way prioritising the therapeutic relationship and offering a safe and supportive space where you can bring all parts of yourself without fear of judgement or rejection. Together, at a pace that suits you, we will engage in gentle and explorative conversations about your life and the impact of past and present experiences on your feelings and the way you relate to yourself and others.

As we do not live in a vacuum, I am particularly passionate about integrating social justice into therapy. This means moving away from pathologising emotional distress and instead acknowledging, in our sessions, the contribution of environmental, social/cultural, and economic factors to the origin and maintenance of psychological difficulties. This approach has strongly informed my work with female survivors of domestic abuse during the last three years.

As an immigrant myself, I bring my own lived experience of immigration and its impact on our sense of self and identity. Having lived, worked and studied in international environments for nearly 15 years now, I embrace diversity in all its forms. My practice is inclusive of gender, sexual and relationship diversity (GSRD), neurodivergence, LGBTQIA and BIPOC+ affirming.

Approach

I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), but I practice integratively tailoring my approach to meet your unique needs. As such, I draw from a range of modalities including CBT, Narrative Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Internal Family Systems. My approach is based on the core principles of trauma-informed practice, which means that I work within a non-hierarchical framework that offers safety, choices, collaboration, trustworthiness, and transparency.

My practice is open to anyone aged 16+. I offer both in-person and online sessions, and I work in English and Greek.
